Pastel Evening
This photo looks like it's been retouched using pastels! But no, an evening in early May 2006, New-england weather has not made it's mind if it should be warm or cold, and today it's cold. everyone is trying to get food shopping done, it's almost a routine, shop-to-shop, with a baby carriage in the boot. The evening sky is dark, but yet it draws more attention than the lit surroundings.
The slow shutter speed makes the image grainy and soft even at 200 ASA because of the hand-held movement. The picture is not imperfected by this, but it's a reflection of the human reality. Just like human sentiment bleeds through a piece of Jazz improv, so it does in this picture.
The Burning Bush
This landscape/scenery photo was taken in Leominster, MA at sun-set on a cloudy day. The combination of the silhoutted leaf-less trees (autumn season) and the sparse uneven reflection fo the yellow setting sun's rays gives the impression of a Burning Bush - RSV 2005
Diasy, oh my Daisy!!
Attention to the detail. The bright part is not necessarily the part that draws attention. The middle ground of this photo has more detail because it has more contrast.
DOF and exposure are the main aspects of the technique used to compose this picture.
