Internet Explorer 5.5, 6, and 7 and the implemetation of Standards compliant CSS
Internet Explorer has always based it's CSS implementation on a proprietary model that is not compatible with the W3C standards compliant model that is used by Standards compliant browsers such as Gecko based browsers (Mozilla, Firefox). This, together with the fact that Internet Explorer is used by a majority of Internet users presents a significant challenge to any web designer or producer that seeks to create standards compliant content presentation layouts that cater for this majority section of their audience. This series of documents will introduce and discuss the various incompatibilities of Microsoft's Internet Explorer web browser with Web Standards and the various methods that can be used to remedy (temporarily while awaiting Microsoft's slow match to compliance) these issues.
